Review: Now it all makes sense. Christian Bale was born to play horror characters. I could not understand why I was so, so, fearing him even in films like Velvet Goldmine He is a poster boy for the elegant wrapping rotten soul. In American Psycho - a film that deserves more attention than this May - he was absolutely amazing. Completely believable. I could feel his joy in playing a monster of this kind. Interestingly, it seems that asking for sympathy manicured monster, imagine the nerve! But Christian Bale manages to show us a beautiful face that we (I) had not seen before and we (I) accept without question. He should get an Oscar nomination, but fortunately, he does not.
