Review: You know how you used to read those annoying comments from people moaning about how the movie is nothing like the book? And they do not. I will say that they have made a good movie as possible, without changing anything significant (other than age recruits who obviously needed to do fo r to make the story the film able.) Enders game was much better than I expected and surprisingly so considering he was a development hell with different names attached to it. It turned out that Gavin Hood is a director to make this life. Design and production values ââare excellent, and I especially loved the animated sequences where Ender has a computer game created uniquely for him. Cast was pretty much perfect and everyone played with conviction. I was impressed from the start by the way the film makes clear that Ender is advancing so quickly, because he is a brilliant strategist and Asa Butterfield is a good enough actor to convey it without resorting to over acting. The film does not run away from the brutality of lives of these young recruits leads, at least not within the confines of a 12A movie, and the end is so shocking and moving as it should. My only real criticism of the film is that it is too short, not something you usually hear from me. Ender just seems to evolve too quickly and miss some of the nuances and real difficulties he faced the road. Unless the planned sequel then we probably could have done without the Enders family background and relationship with her sister and brother and devoted more to fight School.Overall However, this film is worth a long period. This gives more than what we had a right to expect. Orson Scott Card may not homophobic, but powerful message at the heart of this film speaks a lot more than the average Hollywood film can deliver.
