Review: What was your favorite word? Jason Bateman is a funny guy, but his films are usually hit or miss with me. Bad words were miss. Just could not get into the premise of this movie considering Bateman plays a guy 40 years competing in the spelling bee largest in the United States against a group of children Pequén ; you intelligent. Sometimes this kind of ridiculous to work fine premises in comedies, but this movie was too clever mean and nasty for my taste. I did not find none of the jokes and Batemans character relationships with the people around him have never felt plausible. There is some mystery that revolves around the main characters in order to participate in this contest, but once it became clear, I did not think it adds anything to the movie. I will give some credit to Jason Bateman (who also directed the film) by casting against type considering that usually plays the good guy and here plays a hateful and racist character. Just not found No Bad Words funny situation and I think we can call a movie a lot of fun just to push the boundaries of making posesióny calling children and their parents' names. Maybe it was just not my kind of comedy, but it never worked for me and I was disappointed with Batemans first feature film. Kathryn Hahn plays the journalist who is Batemans supporting character in the spelling bee. She knows that the story will sell, and as Bateman was a pool in the competition they need to support a national journalist, decides to voluntarily help. The relationship between the two characters is probably the weakest link in the film, and have never found any of their interactions fun. Rohan Chand is playing one of the competitors in the spelling bee, that friend Guy (Jason Bateman) is done. At first Guy wants nothing to do with him, but soon a relationship that is the Heart & soul of this film takes place. Chand plays a sympathetic character, but it really was not too comfortable with their actions. Not a reliable actors like Allison Janney and Ben Falcone opportunities to shine are given here. Maybe I was not in the mood for a comedy, but I remember laughing at any particular scene there. I feel a little uncomfortable with the strange relationship between each character and I just found out too odious individual Batemans want to spend more time on-screen viewing.
